An honest teacher should have the muscle power besides very good intelligence. Otherwise it is difficult to survive in a government school especially with scores of opposition.

Dandam Dashagunam policy our hero Guru (Shivarajakumar) applies to Raghu (Rangayana Raghu) rather very late. The honesty, preaching and punching ability of Guru scores in this film. He is a dashing hero and delectable teacher. He advises the students to be like ‘Soorya’ and plan life like ‘Chandra’.

We are also getting a flashback that a Tamil film of 2012 ‘Sattaai’ had the similar theme. Debutant director Pramod Chakravarthy honestly followed it in rather protracted narration of 157 minutes film ‘Drona’.

Guru is in government school of Nelamangala teaching physics. He is physically and mentally very strong. He takes on all matters to his head to make his school a model school. The biggest opponent is assistant head master Raghu. In the house of Raghu there is another one waiting to take revenge on Guru. That is flashback story for you. Guru opposed the activities of Ravi Kishan in an election time. The biggest insult Ravi Kishan met brings him back to pounce on Guru when he is a school teacher.

Guru winning laurels for him and for his school set right all fishy activities even in the school management. Yet he is put down by his opponent. He recovers from a severe attack. Finding everything in good condition he leaves the school.

Dr Shivarajakumar has showed his guts and good ability in acting. He is ‘Tagaru’ when someone pounces on him; he is softy ice cream when someone comes for shelter to him.

Babu Hirannaiah as head master is convincing. Rangayana Raghu over acting sometime irks. Iniya as wife of Shivarajakumar has nothing much. Swathi Sharma and others students have given a near performance.

Sri Ramanavami song is well sung by Vijayaprakash. The cinematography and music gives a little support to the film.

‘Drona’ is a student-teacher tale worth watching .
